About Us |
|
Two good friends, Stuart Gates & John Neal, took over the reigns of The Depot in October of 2010.
John Neal, owner of local favorites: "The Keg and Barrel" & "Neal Catering,” brings to your table his many years of restaurant and catering experience.
Stuart Gates too, offers years of restaurant experience and a deliciously fresh culinary approach to your dining experience. He has spent several years in Charleston, South Carolina, including a stint at Johnson and Wales University. |

The vision of these two partners was two-fold: to create a unique downtown lunch spot, and also to serve as the catering arm of the newly renovated "Venue", a 10,000 square foot event center attached to the rear of the restaurant. Working directly with building's owner, Rodney Richardson, it wasn’t long before their vision became a reality. All that was missing was … well ... coffee.

Here we introduce assistant manager and head barista, Josh Aldy. Josh has taken The Depot's coffee and tea selections to another level, adding award-winning Rishi teas and Counter Culture's premium ‘Direct Trade’ coffees to the repertoire. It is his attention to detail that sets Josh apart as a master barista. He painstakingly makes his syrups from scratch, and has implemented an individual cup "pour-over" system for the benefit of the true coffee enthusiast. He even insists on getting his dairy products from the local creamery, Country Girls.
"Whether it’s The Bistro lunch menu, The Depot Catering menu, our coffees or our teas — we like to let our quality ingredients speak for themselves. When dealing with food and beverage, its easy to overanalyze things — we seem to rely on one constant: use premium products, get premium results. Its that simple."
